Update ios10 to ios 12

I own a iphone 5 it's running ios10. All the apps i need is on ios 12. Can i update my software to run ios12 instead of ios10

The iPhone 5 cannot be updated beyond iOS 10.x.x.x. It does not have the necessary components to run newer software.
