imessage spotify disappeared

Spotify disappeared from my iMessage, it’s not on my task bar and I can’t add it back even tho I have the app downloaded and also have premium, can’t even send the 30 sec music clips

Hello A13X313 and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty accessing the Spotify app via Messages.

Try deleting the app, rebooting the device and then reinstalling it from the App Store.

Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books from the App Store, iTunes Store, and Apple Books

If you continue to have problems, this is an issue you'll want to take up with Spotify.

Yes I have but I don’t think it’s a Spotify problem, since I can use the app fine the only thing is I can’t use Spotify in my imessage, it used to show up right their above my keyboard where I could the 30 second song clips and out of nowhere it disappeared and I can’t add it back

I went through the full customer service and got on the phone with someone to help me throughout the problem and apparently they got rid of Spotify off the iMessage indefinitely they it’s the new norm idk why they would take it off when they had just added it but yea also same it was one of favorite features and now it’s gone hopefully they bring it back

This is inaccurate. Apple removed the app from the “iMessage app” task bar. Why would Spotify want less people utilizing their app? The only thing that removing it does is incentivize iPhone users to use Apple Music instead of Spotify.....so I’m a little confused as to why you would assume that that was Spotify’s decision? 😂

This is a response from Spotify’s customer support when asked about the issue. “We can confirm that currently there is no option to share Spotify content via iMessage. As iMessage is maintained by Apple, this isn't something we have full influence on, but if we see that this is a popular feature that our users want, we can look into and see what we can do.”

Yes it does. It looks like Spotify has discontinued their IMessage app. Plus we can vote on it. If we can vote on it, then they can do something about it. And if they can then why wouldn’t they have already? Also that would give them the power to take it off as well. (I realize I am a month late in this conversation but oh well)

I don’t understand Spotify literally disappeared, I have the app downloaded and have premium I’ve deleted the app and even done a full reset to my phone so why can’t I use Spotify in my iMessage

I already tried that multiple times even did a full reset on Spotify and deleted all of its data i don’t know what is going on 😕

My new 11Pro is doing the exact same thing. I remember it always being there and I’m pretty sure it went away after these updates Apple put out. Pretty dissatisfied, I used it all the time.

It is spotify’s fault. It is their app, and they chose if they want an imessage extension or not. And because spotify does not care about their users at all, they just removed it.
