Hi, I just got a MacBook for the first time (M1 Air) and I was wondering how to best take care of it and how to take care of the battery.
More specifically, I'm wondering if I can use it while plugged in?
Can I leave it charging overnight?
And any other tips you have, they are all welcome.

Leave it plugged in as much as convenient, when you’re using it, not using it, overnight, etc. Won’t harm your battery, rather will extend the lifespan. Your Mac effectively manages its battery health including charging time and level as well as occasionally running on battery even when plugged in.
