How to set scan resolution in Notes app?
When I scan a black & white document the resulting PDF file is some 8 MB, if it is something colored the file goes up to 18-20 MB. How to lower the DPI / the resolution?
iPhone SE, iOS 14

Wish it was a simple supplier issue for me. I had to send some documents to a government entity.
I resolved it by using a scanner app. That was the suggestion from Apple Support as Notes does can not lower the resolution.
I don’t think you can unless you choose black and white manually.
In the scale of things 10MB is trivial these days.
Yea, 10MB its trivial, but you need to explain this also to some phone providers which are charging the data with $0.7 for 0.1MB...
Change your Notes settings to wifi only
It maybe trivial, but if you’re needing to send an 8 mb file and they have a 2 mb maximum, it won’t work. 😕
Change suppliers if you have a limit smaller than one photo .
And the scanner embedded in Files app is doing the same, probably the same engine so no way to make the pictures or pdf's smaller...
