Certain Notes Folders not showing up on iPhone

Hello,

Last night I was typing up a note on my phone and all of a sudden, notes crashed and the 3 folders I’ve had for 3 years disappeared. I checked on iCloud and the 3 folders are there, syncing is turned on under my notes settings and I can still create notes on my phone and iCloud and have them sync. It’s like these folders are invisible on my iPhone. Any new note I create on iCloud in the folder shows up on my phone and says it’s located in the folder that is invisible. These folders are loaded with photos and notes, and on iCloud the photos show up as gray squares sometimes. It’s important for me to have the three folders and their contents back on my phone. I don’t want to have to go to my desktop and write notes going forward. Help!! What happened?

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities with your question. We want to help get you pointed in the right direction. Check out this link to learn what to do If you're missing notes on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Since the Notes are on iCloud, you may want to make sure that your iPhone is connected to a reliable Wi-Fi connection and is connected for enough time to allow these notes to come back through to your device. If your device is on iOS 14.3, you can check your Notes settings under Settings > Notes > Accounts > Fetch New Data, and verify how often Notes information is synced to your device.

Also, if you have not tried it already, Restart the iPhone. This simple step will refresh the apps and software on the device to solve numerous problems you may encounter.

Hi! I had to uncheck the sync button on notes for all accounts and then turn it on again. It took 3 days for it to load back, and I had to keep making sure my notes were open for it to load. A tedious and manual process, but eventually the notes moved from the cloud to my phone again.

This didn't help at all. I'm having the same problem. The folders still don't show up on my iphone, even though they are on the iCloud.
