Apple devices picking weaker router in mesh system

Does anyone know of a way to force my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro) to choose the closest router "puck" in our home mesh network? They keep "holding on" to weaker routers as we move throughout the home. In one room router A is great, but when going to another room, router A sucks, and we are 4 feet from router B, but the devices wont connect to that one.

We have tried toggling off wifi, rebooting devices, everything.

There’s no way from the Mac side. Perhaps your router system has such settings. If nothing else, you may be able to configure your mesh to have separate SSIDs for each node, then pick the one to connect a higher device to...but that basically defeats the point of a mesh network.
