Wireless bluetooth audio sync - not working correctly.

When attempting to sync bluetooth soundbar - apple TV will only send the sync tones out the HDMI port to the TV - and NOT over bluetooth (Soundbar is paired and working fine - just out of sync with the visual).


This seems pretty nuts.

What's the point of syncing a bluetooth speaker - if the apple TV won't send the sync tones out to the bluetooth speaker?!!?


Dear apple - if you're going to get rid of analog audio outputs then you sure should have not missed this.


Also - default audio will only display as "TV" and will not show AirPods, or bluetooth soundbar although audio will work with either device just fine. In fact, AirPods have the correct delay offsets so the sync fine, but third party soundbars do not.

That is normal, the tone is supposed to emit from the TV and it is then using the phone to measure and sync. If it states that it was successful then it did what it was meant to, if it said unsuccessful then you need to move the phone close and/or increase the volume on your TV.

You can only set HomePods as a default audio source.
