Switch account from gmail to outlook?

Hi,

My company has recently migrated corporate email from Gmail backend to Exchange backend. The email address is the same for both. I have years of corporate email in AppleMail (from Gmail backend) that I do not want to lose. But I would like to pull down my new emails from Exchange going forward.

What is the best way to proceed? Is it safe to simply reconfigure the mailbox (currently pointing at Gmail) to point to Exchange?

Sooner or later you may need to reconfigure to exchange.

You may need to check the email retention / backup policy with your organisation.

Also you can look into this link for Import or export mailboxes in Mail on Mac - Apple Support.
