iPad Air won’t backup message an error occurred
computer allowed 2 iPhones 11 to backup
IOS 14.4 update IPhone 7 Plus, (2) IPHONE 11, IPad Air
Unable to update using OTA or ITUNES on Windows 10
Steps Taken
1) Tried ITUNES failed an error occurred
2) Changed cables to Apple’s same error
3) Tried OTA failed
4) Disabled Find my Device ICLOUD Failed
5) SUCCESSFUL🥳🥳🥳
Remove the unlock password from each device updated without a glitch using ITUNES
Turned password back on devices no further issues worked perfectly and so far solved several existing issues before update
Note I used ITUNES not OTA to update don’t know if that makes a difference
IT APPEARS THAT THE DEVICE PASSWORD PROTECTION IS THE SOURCE OF THE ISSUE BEYOND MY PAYGRADE BUT IT DID WORK
Tim Thank you
I’m happy to hear that you got it all sorted out. What you describe sounds like error code 4000 which isn’t listed in any Apple suppprt docs. The way around it is to remove the passcode - like you did - and then update with iTunes. It is a bug in iTunes for Windows.
I will try these steps I did not try a different cord could be that simple Thanks
There is another link at the very end of the article if iTunes throws up a specific error code number.
Thanks for the help seems like I did see that code at some point
