Predictive text works everywhere besides the Messages app. I've turned predictive text off and back on, rebooted everything, and I'm at a loss as to what else to try. Any thoughts?

First, you can see if this same issue happens in a temporary administrator test user: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac This can tell us if the issue is only happening in your user or in all users on your MacBook Pro.
You can also see if this happens in safe mode as well: How to use safe mode on your Mac This stops certain software from loading and can help isolate what might be causing this.
