Do all document files get transferred?

Contemplating switching from Windows to MacBook Air. The phrase “ Files from the top-level folder of the currently logged-in user’s home directory” scares me. Many windows document files (pdf, doc, xlsx, etc) are multiple layers deep in directories. Do all get transferred or just those in the top level folders

Hello TJG999,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, you are concerned with your move of files from Windows to Migration Assistant. We will explain.

It's possible Migration Assistant might not move over those documents. If you are concerned, you can save those files onto an external hard drive and move them over manually to your MacBook Air after utilizing Migration Assistant or save them using iCloud Drive: Set up iCloud Drive

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
