iPad restarts when connect to MacBook for sidecar

Both my iPad (2018) and MacBook Pro 2019 13" are updated to the latest version. But after the latest update of BigSur on Mac, my iPad restarts whenever I connect it to MacBook with Bluetooth and choose to have the sidecar option, displaying an error message. What can I do about this?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that you are receiving an error when you try to use your iPad as a second display for your Mac with Sidecar. Make sure that both of your iPad and your MacBook Pro meet the system requirements for Sidecar and that they both meet the additional requirements as listed in this article:

Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac with Sidecar - Apple Support

"Both devices must be signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID using two-factor authentication.
To use Sidecar wirelessly, both devices must be within 10 meters (30 feet) of each other and have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Handoff turned on. Also make sure that the iPad is not sharing its cellular connection and the Mac is not sharing its Internet connection."
