Eject External Disc - Finder

I can not eject the external disc. It said using by other programs. After three times trying to close and get the same warning, it said you have to close Finder first because they are using some of your files from the disc. The thing is I can not quit Finder although use Force Quit. Can I just unplugged the disc without eject? How to close Finder?

Hi CandellaNatadisastra,

In this case, here is how to eject:

  1. Shut down your Mac all the way (Apple Menu > Shut Down), NOT restart.
  2. Unplug the external disk.
  3. Turn you Mac back on.

This should work!

Cheers,

Jack
