Cursor click displaced

Using Google apps like Maps and Calendar in Safari my cursor clicks about an inch and a half to the right and down of where my cursor actually is. This doesn't happen in Google Chrome. Why?

Hi ryane77,

thanks for the quick reply and thanks for your help!

The same thing happens on Amazon's website when zooming in on products.

I am currently using Catalina 10.15.7.

Creating a new administrator account solved the problem.

Safe mode did not.

Looking forward to your analysis.

Kind regards

Hello scobiedoo,

Thanks for posting. As we understand it, when you Google Maps or Google Calendar in Safari, you find your cursor clicks in an unexpected location. Is that correct? We'd like to see how we can help.

Does this happen with any other websites in Safari, or only those two?

Which macOS version are you using? You can check by clicking Apple menu () > About This Mac.

To narrow the issue down, you can try testing in a newly-created administrator account and in safe mode. This helps to rule out a few software causes, depending on the results. These articles have the steps:

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

How to use safe mode on your Mac

Let us know if you're able to replicate this behavior in another user account and in safe mode.

Take care.
