iphone recovery mode

i had an issue with my iPhone XS this morning, it got stuck on the black screen logo page. I have done the 3 button sequence trick multiple times. I have tried to update my phone on my laptop and this message has been like this for 3 hours (preparing iPhone for restore and iTunes is restoring the software on this iPhone?. Should i just wait or do i need to do something else?
