Charger for my MacBook Air

Will a AC 85w charger charge my 2017 MacBook Air without giving it to much power that it will cause problems for my MacBook Air?

No, it won't cause any problems, because it will supply the MacBook Air at the power it needs intelligently, but Apple always recommends you to use the charger that comes within your box.
