Active vs total calories during workout

Hi,

I have read several community posts but have not been able to find the specific answer to the following question. When I am working out my watch displays active and total calories. For example yesterday I went for a 35 min cycle workout where it shows 287 ACTIVE calories and 340 TOTAL calories. The question is: will 287 or 340 calories count towards my move goal?

Thanks,

T

287 will count towards your move goal because they are active energy calories and it's these that you burn whilst exercising.

Resting energy is the calories your body burns in order to survive or not exercising.

Total calories is resting energy + active energy.
