Mac not recognizing keyboard or mouse

I set up a logitech MX for Mac keyboard, which was working. I logged out and upon waking, the keyboard was not recognized. After many attempts, I tried resetting password. Now I'm prompted to turn on keyboard and mouse -- which I have (magic keyboard and apple mouse). Computer is not connecting to either the keyboard or mouse and I cannot get past the screen with the connection prompt.

So I connected the keyboard to the USB port and it is working. I can now get to the Reset Password screen. But mouse will still not connect, so still stuck
