ios 14.4 - 2 factor authentication for Apple ID.

So just updated to ios 14.4 because I read that it fixed a security flaw that may have been actively exploited, it seems to have enabled 2 factor authentication for Apple id on my phone.

I understand the security, and have been putting it off due to user having issue getting a code when a. their phone is broken or b. phone is stolen.

Read up on this link https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204915 . Does not mention a fixed for the above scenario. Nor is it very clear.

I was wondering if anyone has more experience with this feature, otherwise I might turn it off for that reason.

You should always have more than one trusted device to avoid a problem in these scenarios. In addition to my iPhone, my iPad and my Mac are trusted devices. My work landline (not so relevant right now) and my Google voice number are trusted numbers.

If I go to www.appleid.com - I see trusted phone number but not trusted device only see your signed into device below. Is there a different page to add it?
