No recently deleted files shown

When I delete a file that is on my iphone, ot doesn’t show up on recently deleted section in files app. This has been happening since iOS 13. Today with 14.4 update suddenly all of my deleted files showed up and I could delete them, but after a restart the problem reappeared.

Any help? I already tried downgrading, reupdating, restoring,...

Hi antuntun7,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your files do not show up in Recently Deleted after you delete them.

Since they did appear temporarily, please also check iCloud Drive from a computer to make sure they appear there. Just visit iCloud from a computer to check.

Next, try connecting your iPhone to another network and see if the same issue occurs there. That will help to isolate this further.

Take care.

antuntun7,

When this happens, do you see a Recently Deleted folder at all? If not, go all the way back to all locations and you should see a Recently Deleted folder that would be for all files, on your iPhone and in iCloud.

If you see a Recently Deleted folder but do not see your deleted files, use the Search bar within the Files app and try searching by name. Do any results appear?

Also, to make sure we're on the same page, were these files deleted less than 30 days ago? They would be automatically deleted after 30 days.

Have a great day!
