How to set up time machine backup to icloud?
How can I set up Time Machine on my Mac to backup to Icloud? It doesn't give me that option when I choose 'back up automatically' under TM preferences.

Backup disks you can use with Time Machine - Apple Support lists options/devices for using Time Machine states:
"Time Machine can back up certain external storage devices connected to your Mac or available on your network."
Dropbox is a separate service, and will not integrate with Time Machine.
In other words, some type of external storage device is required.

Time Machine can only use physical drives.
Any suggestions on doing scheduled backups for certain databases on my HD automatically to a Cloud account like ICloud or Dropbox? Unfortunately my order processing / accounting / bookkeeping / inventory control software does not offer cloud backup and having all that data on one physical machine is not smart.
Thanks!
You don't have the option because that method of using Time Machine is not available.
Any way I can back up my Mac via Time Machine to any Cloud location like Dropbox? If not, am I correct in that the only device to back up to via Time Machine is an external hard drive of some sort?
