Can't find screen recording

I recorded my screen for around 30 minutes. When I stopped, the recording showed up at the right bottom corner of the screen as it usually does. However, it didn't appear on my desktop. I used finder to try and locate the recording, but I still can't find it. Does anybody know how to solve this issue?
