iPhone 12 Apple logo flashes on start up.

I purchased a new iPhone12 – about 3 weeks ago from Verizon Wireless. As of yesterday 1/26/21, when I turn on the phone the apple logo flashes, then the screen goes black. It takes me pressing the power button down two more separate times for it to turn on and boot up?

I have tried the restore and update option, after plugging my iphone into my MacBook Air with iTunes. Can you help or do you have any advice?

I don't think this is a software issue, it sounds more like a hardware issue.

There's been quite a few reports on this in the last couple of weeks, with the one common point being iPhone 12 (Pro, Pro Max, 12) that have been purchased since the beginning of the month, and delivered with iOS 14.3 installed. Some have been able to exchange for slightly older (but still new) units that had 14.2 instead, and they don't seem affected, even after subsequently upgrading to 14.3 / 14.4.

We don't know yet where the problem lies, whether it's software or hardware. Apple is aware of it and investigating, but there's no information yet on a possible fix.

Most people report the exact same issue with replacement phones, unless they're from an older stock with iOS 14.2 pre-installed. It's been discussed for more than two weeks on the support communities, I'm hoping that we will hear soon from Apple on a possible fix.
