I have a smart playlist, created on OSX, synced with iOS.
It works fine on OSX: includes all songs except those with a specific genre tag.
It does not work the same on iOS: plays everything regardless of tags.
What gives?

Annoying. Delete the list. Sync. Recreate and try again. Or copy the results to a regular list and sync that.

In which case see this post on erratic syncing. Sometimes a complete wipe and rebuild is the way to go.

I've tried that too. And copying the results into a regular playlist to keep updated manually is not what I'm after, unfortunately.
I'm having some other ongoing issues as well (duplicated songs) and am tempted to bid farewell to Apple music apps and look for something more reliable.
