touchbar emojis do not work

11.1 Big Sur touchbar emojis do not work. Is it a touchbar or a PRESS bar feature?

Initially, touchbar worked well... now, pressbar works whenever it wants to.

Can a GeniusBar appointment solve this issue?

Verify your user preferences, make some changes and then come back to the way you want it

Use the Touch Bar on Mac - Apple Support

Customize the Touch Bar on MacBook Pro - Apple Support

For Touchbar issues reset the SMC (on Intel Macs:) https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

if no resolve

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

If still no resolve—

Call Customer Support (800) MY–APPLE (800–692–7753)

or call AppleCare Support at 1-800-APLCARE (800-275-2273)
