pick a song for alarms gives me "internal error", the requested app extension could not be found

I want to pick a song (possible from spotify) to wake me up daily. I've tried but I always get this error. What could it be due to? what app extension is needed for this? how can I solve it?

I've looked into the community and there is at least one open question for this, but no answers, let's see if I have more luck.

Alarm Sound with Apple Music When setting an alarm, there is the option in the Sounds menu that lets you choose any song from your Apple Music library. After setting the song (the song title appears in the "edit alarm" menu), it does not play when the alarm rings. Rather, the default Radar sound plays, which is very unpleasant. If I choose any pre-installed tone from the menu like Apex, it works. Note: My Apple Music subscription is active and renews every month, so it shouldn't be my subscription causing the problem.

Selected Alarm Sound Not Working (SOLVED) I tried to respond to a post about the selected alarm sound not working and how it only plays the default. However it wouldn’t let me because the post was old. I was having this issue but I figured it out! My alarm sound I selected was no downloaded through my music app. Once I downloaded it, the sound started to work. SOLVED: the song you want to use needs to be purchased AND downloaded! download it through your music app.
