How do I drag a website to my IMac desktop and show the original logo and not the dreaded WEBLOC ?

The original logo does not usually show on website drags to the desktop.
If you want to save a website, with the icon in Safari, go to Bookmarks (in the top menu bar) > Add Bookmark > choose your location for the bookmark and click add.

You can’t choose desktop. You have to choose Favorites or Bookmarks.
Jack's right. I don't ever remember seeing the site's favicon on the weblog file instead of the HTTPS icon:

Jack, This does not happen with my iPad ?.....all my desktop icons on my iPad are originals (Amazon etc)
iPads and Macs are different. Website icons just don’t appear on the Mac desktop.
When I click and drag the website to my desktop on my iMac it only shows as WEBLOC instead of favicon. I want the original icon picture (like Amazon)
