iTunes connectivity

Can anyone help?

my iPhone XS Max is not recognised by iTunes.

my iPad and partners iPhone both connect fine to iTunes with same cable.

is there a setting in my phone that is stopping it connect to iTunes.

same phone is recognised by my laptop as a storage device etc, so the drivers are fine.

I have done everything apart from a hard reset which will wipe everything and start again.

I have also uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled from apple website twice. No joy.

I have done pretty much all the suggestions on various internet sites.

musing windows 10 laptop.

very frustrated.

TIA

Yann.

The key part of the advice is not to take Windows' word for it when it says the drivers are up to date. You must explicitly select the driver that Apple have supplied. This should work when iTunes has been installed as a number of components using an iTunes(64)Setup.exe installer. If you are running Windows 10 you may need to switch versions to follow these steps, or alternatively switching to the Microsoft Store version might help if selecting the correct driver as described still doesn't work.
