What cable to get for macbook air?

Hi.

1) Planning to buy 13 inch macbook air.

Does it comes with the traditional usb ports (um idk how to describe it. but it’s the most common usb - pendrive/phone charger?) I think it is called usb A? If not, what cable should I get, if I want to connect usb to macbook?

2) If I’m getting superdrive and macbook air. Do I need separate cable to connect these two?

Thanks!

MacBook

Hi frrh9595,

That's exciting! It sounds like you want to learn the ports available on our new MacBook Air along with any cables or adapters you might need as well.

According to the MacBook Air Technical Specifications from Apple, it comes with USB 4 also known as Thunderbolt 3 ports and a USB-C Charge Cable. A picture is available on that link in the sections titled "What's in the Box" and "Charging and Expansion". Based on the ports and cables shared within the link, you can use our guide for Charging cable for iPhone to determine your iPhone's compatibility.

The link to Apple USB SuperDrive shares a section on compatibility and notes that *MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models with USB-C ports require a USB-C to USB adapter (sold separately) to use Apple USB SuperDrive.
