iPad connect to localhost?

Is it possible to use the Safari browser on the iPad (or other browsers available in the app store) to connect to the localhost of a computer?

Windows Vista

Local host is a setting within the device, finding the local host may not work at all, I think what your really after is remot_host or something like that if your trying to get the ip address of the device connected.

Local host within the php will only give you the local hosts ip details of the server your running the web server from.

All php commands are run from the server side, not the client side, remember the server will process the commands locall and then sent the result to the browser so local host will alsways be processed on the server side. You need remote-host, as then the server will take the clients details from the remote clisnt connecting to the web server.

Local host will always be 127.0.0.1, which is to connect to itself.
