Are people still running Xserves in this day and age?
Just bought an Xserve 2009 however it won’t turn on. There is a green light on constantly on each CPU voltage LED. There is another PSU led next to CPU A & CPU B which is red. All these three LEDs are solid and not blinking on the logic board close to the pCI riser card which is next to mezzanine graphics card.
can any one give me any idea what might be wrong?
Any help will be much appreciated?

I did extensive search online and also went through technician’s guide. I even changed power supply board as after reading through some of the forums got some hint that red cpu led might be due to power supply board. However even after changing this I could not get rid of the problem. I also changed both cpus, used functioning ram from another unit as well with no avail. I spoke with one of the companies in London, they apparently specialise in Xserve. They told me that it could cost me maximum £180. Diagnostic price was ~£50. In the end I bought the new logic board and used the same rest of the parts. The problem resolved after changing the logic board. I would still be interested to know if anyone else had the same issue and if they managed to sort it without changing the whole logic board.

I have a 2009 Xserve which I run as a Plex server. I also have an identically configured Xserve as a backup... although I have not had any failures yet (knock on wood). With the exception of when I am on vacation, the server has been running 24x7 for nearly 5 years now.
I would recommend doing your internet search for Xserve 2009 Technician Guide. LED troubleshooting starts on page 22. That should do the trick for you. ;-)

Not much you can do with a logic board problem other than replace it.
While I have not used them myself, should you encounter issues in the future you may want to try using Apple's Server Diagnostics:
