iPhone X face ID stops working when charging

So i just got an iphone x recently and after about a month i started running into my face id would just not work while it was plugged in. So id have to take off the face, restart, then put it on. Now just a restart works luckily. Is it some sort of setting or just a glitch? because it is absolutely only when i try to unlock while charging and will continue to not work until reset. Anything helps, thanks.
