Hi,
There is an issue with EVERY apple watch S5: when the screen comes in direct sunlight in AOD mode (dim display) the screen starts to flicker green/grey/white horizontal lines.
I had multiple calls with Apple and their final answer was that the engineers called it “within factory specifications”.
Is there any official documentation by Apple on this?
Wouldn’t have bought the watch knowing this...

I tried everything. I even got a replacement watch from the store, but the problem is still there...
Tech support does not offer any proper solution where always on display can still be used.
I have this exact thing happening to me on Sunny days:
By telephone the support representatives claim it is “as designed”, but no one dares to write that down as an official statement.
Apple also has nothing in the manual about strange behaviour with AOD in direct sunlight, so it does not seem “ as designed “
Very disappointed in the way I’m being treated.
