Moving items off Desktop

For some reason, the Macintosh HD and Macintosh HD Data icons are on my desktop. I am not sure how this happened but I don't need them there, do I? Can they be moved to Finder?

I have a MacBook Pro Big Sur 11.1

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.1

In the Finder, go to Preferences>General and untick Hard Drives under "Show these items on the desktop".
