Why does my Nano 5th Gen sync with my iMac but not with my Macbook

Hello,

I am currently running a Macbook 13" mid-2012 2.9 Ghz dual core i7 16GB memory. For an os i am running Catalina. I cant get my Nano 5th Gen to sync with my Macbook. It shows up in the Finder side bar (This after Itunes was replaced by Music so I know I have to sync in Finder) but it just spins "Connecting" and then it says it cant connect. But if I plug it in to my iMac running Catalina, it recognizes and I can sync. Also, I can sync on my MacBook a 1st gen IPOD, a 2nd and 3rd GEN Shuffle, a 4th Gen Nano, and a 2nd Gen Ipod Touch NO PROBLEM. The only issue is the Nano. My MacBook is my primary and has 100% of my music on it. My IMac is for work and only has about 15% of my music on it. Any help would be appreciated.

We understand that you've been unable to connect and sync your iPod nano with your MacBook Pro, but you have no issues connecting and syncing it with your iMac. You've come to the right place, we'd be happy to help. To start, we recommend that you give the troubleshooting steps within the following resource a try: If you see an error in Finder or iTunes on your computer - Apple Support

We'd also recommend that you test with another cable (if one is available), or another USB port on your MacBook Pro.

Use the Finder to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

Let us know if that helps.

Cheers!
