I recently upgraded to an iPad Air 4 but can’t get the screen shot function to work. I found that you need to use a combination of the top left side home button and the volume up button to take a screen shot. No matter what combination of using them, I can’t get it to take a screen shot. What am I missing ? Is there a setting where this function could be turned off ? I look forward to your replies.

Assuming that your iPad has a Home button - to trigger a screenshot, you simultaneously press both the “top” (Sleep/Wake) button and the Home Button. 1) Press-and-hold the Top Button
2) Press-and-release the Home Button | Up Volume Button

If you have an Apple Pencil, a further option exists. Using the Pencil, from the bottom-left or bottom-right corner of the screen, swipe toward the centre of the screen; this triggers a screenshot.
