The notification “Press and hold to switch everything off” pops repeatedly (Apple TV 4K) even though nothing has been pressed on the remote. The problem stopped after unplugging the device but has started again. Any suggestions?

Your remote might be defective. Try taking it out of range (wrap in foil?) and using the ATV Remote app on an iPhone to see if the message reappears.
