Aluminum remote stopped talking to my apple tv

To link the physical remote to the box, when that link has been lost, do as described here:

1. Use any Apple Remote to clear the current pairing by holding Menu and Left for six seconds. A broken chain-link icon  will appear on your TV screen.

2. Pair your current remote with the Apple TV by holding Menu and Right for six seconds. A chain-link icon  will appear on your TV screen.

Not that the software remote in Control Center on iPhone is not compatible with Apple TV (2nd generation) A1378.

But A1469 is a 3rd generation model, which would be compatible.

I doubt that. The Apple TV (1st generation) ‘A1218’ from 2007 doesn’t have meaningful functionality since 2018.

If your Apple TV box is black, then it is at least 2nd generation.

I believe the difference between 3rd generation and later models is, on which device the code should be entered. So keep your physical remote ready as well.

Try to reset it with a iphone. You can use a iphone as remote. Go to your home, then the app tv, click on it. At the right side you see a remote picture/symbol. Click on it. And then reset your 4k tv

I have here the same problem. Remote reacts on nothing. Like it work before. Charge it, didn’t work. They want to reconnect it. But can not get into the setup menu without a remote to work.
