Hi there,
I have just bought an Apple TV 4K, and I loved it. but the only thing is: the volume buttons are not working. While configuring the remote as a new device on the screen we have + and - buttons and mute to press for configurations but on the remote there is no Mute button to press.
How can we configure the Apple remote for controlling the volume of the TV?

The volume controls on the Siri Remote are supposed to work without configuration in most cases. If the volume doesn’t respond, you need to manually program your Siri Remote for volume control.

thank you for replying, then probably what i am doing is not correct. My + /- buttons for the volume control for Apple TV is not functioning. To increase and decrease the volume level, I have to use my TVs remote. What should I do to use the Apple TV remote volume control buttons?
It seems you are setting up a third party infrared remote to control Apple TV

instead of setting up the Siri Remote for a new (audio) device

Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Volume Control﹥Learn New Device is the one that is asking for a mute button.
Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Learn Remote asks for up, down, left, right, select etc (which the apple remote also doesn't have).
So there's actually no way to set up an Apple remote's volume control buttons if they haven't been magically auto-detected, because you can't skip setting up the mute button (which the Apple remote doesn't have).
While configuring it asks me to press on Mute. But on the remote we don't have mute button..

and follow the on-screen instructions.
Hi there. I am doing the same thing but there is no mute button on the remote. Also if I select another one only for saving. It does not effect as well.
