i have a new apple iphone, and an old apple watch, i can't pair the two devices. the watchstill has all functionality and works as per normal. Any suggestions?
If your watch isn't listed on icloud then you'll have to visit an apple store.If this doesn't work;
To unpair and erase watch and remove Activation Lock.
On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
Go to Find Iphone.
Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.
Click Erase Apple Watch.
Select Next until the device is erased.
Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch.

The watch needs removing from the old phone's icloud account first and then you can pair it with your new phone.
If you've still got the old phone then unpair the watch through the watch app on the phone.
ok many thanks. I don't have the old iphone as it was a tradein however , I did turn off Find my phone.
