Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand the keypad on your iPhone displays a white color, when you select a number and it's unresponsive. We'll be happy to help.
With the keypad displaying a white color, we recommend to review the settings for accessibility in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. For example, you'll want to verify that, Smart Invert, Classic Invert and any other features within that section might be turned on. This could be causing the white color you're seeing for the keypad.
