connecting

I disconnected my external keyboard to take my MacBook elsewhere. When I returned and reconnected, the MacBook does not recognise the keyboard.

I know the keyboard works as I've tested it on another machine.

I've restarted, tried restarting with the shift button down and tried shift-alt-cmd-p-r. Nothing makes a difference.

Any ideas?
