Need help please

I wiped my macbook air because i am using it to migrate my mac that i'm trading in. I cant get it to update to the latest software to migrate as it say no update available. I currently am running OX 10.9.5 on it. it is a mid 2013 macbook air.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Big Sur through the link provided.
