Need MIDI controllers compatible Mac Air M1

Hello!

I just purchased the Mac Air 2020 M1 and have tried two MIDI interfaces so far that have not worked. First, the Roland UM-1 MK2 with a bus powered USB hub connected to the Thunderbolt 4 input, then the DigitalLife USB-C midi cable connected straight to the Thunderbolt 4 input.

I know that the UM-1 for sure works, as I have had no trouble on my other computer and recently tested it.

Both interfaces do not require drivers and are plug and play.

On my new Mac, they show no power at all when connected and, of course, don’t show up in the MIDI studio either.

I think there is a definite compatibility issue (I probably should not have purchased a device that has yet to be tweaked for music makers.. ugh).

I am hoping somebody out there has had success with a MIDI controller on the new Mac Air, as I would love to be able to create sometime in the near future ...

Please let me know what equipment you have had success with!

version: Big Sur 11.1 and I am working with an Apollo Solo as well as Pro Tools.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14
