How to turn off hide alerts

I am in a group chat with my cousins and they usually send like over 100 messages a day, so I turned on the hide alerts. The issue I’m having is I can not reply in the group message, nor can I like any pictures, or click on any contacts. How do I turn the alerts back on for that group? I can’t even click on the toggle button.
