My 2018 Mini was perfect until Big Sur. When I click on Bookmarks I get a spinning ball and then I can finally scroll down to the bookmark I want.
It looks like it is trying to draw the website icons. Never happened before Big Sur

If you have not yet solved your spinning ball problem with safari bookmarks I have a suggestion. I downloaded Big Sur a few days ago on my iMac & got the spinning ball with the bookmarks. It would spin for 4 or 5 seconds before letting go. At the time I had a real large amount of bookmarks. After deleting a large number of bookmarks that I no longer needed the spinning ball only spins for 1 second now. No doubt in my mind after I delete some more bookmarks there will no longer be a spinning ball. Why a large number of bookmarks bothers Big Sur when it never bothered the other OSs I don't know. Hope this helps.

The favicon used in the web page code is not under Apple's control.
In Safaris bookmarks menu Apple should have full control of whether the favicons show or not.
Thing is, it was no issue before Big Sur so something happened there that Apple should be able to fix.
Yeah. It's called the First Amendment and the page authors have the right to their code.

I turned on the Mac today and the spinning ball is back.

So Apple, what is being done about this? The latest updates did nothing for this issue.

Safari is still terrible, nothing has worked.
Is Apple even looking into the issue? have they been informed of the issues using Safari on Big Sur that have been posted in mac Forums and Reddit?
Same here, I first thought it was my internet connection but found out it is actually my MacBook Pro doing it. I have a MacBook Pro maxed out and it is laughable like the 90's.
That doesn't help with the Bookmarks issue unfortunately, it has issues drawing the icons.
maybe Apple can get off their *** and find a solution
It's so ridiculous that we have to go through this and that Apple is sitting on their rear.
That's great. So far today I have to say the Menu is working better than it has. Maybe they did do something?
