accountsd using an excessive amount of memory

Hi, I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro (running version 10.15.6) and have recently noticed my laptop running at extremely slow speeds, I have opened up activity monitor and noticed that the process "accountsd" has been using an excessive amount of memory, as seen in the image attached. I have monitored this process and have seen it using up to 4GB of memory, the laptop only has 8GB meaning this is completely used whenever running any memory intensive process. Any tips or advice will be appreciated.

Download and run Etrecheck. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

IMPORTANT:

Before running Etrecheck assign Full Disk Access to Etrecheck in the Etrecheck's Privacy preference pane so that it can get additional information from the Console and log files for the report:

Also click and read the About info to further permit full disk access.

Copy the report

and use the Additional Text button to include the report in your reply.

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine what might be causing the problem.

On my iMac accountsd was using around 1GB of memory. Somewhere on the web someone suggested to logout of iCloud in System Preferences -> Apple ID, restart the Mac, and then sign into iCloud again in System Preferences. After following that suggestion, accountsd is only consuming 166MB on my iMac.
