WiFi drops when using Facetime

My daughters iPhone 8 is dropping WiFi for LTE service when connected to FaceTime. It seems to happen randomly and once she disconnects from FaceTime the WiFi signal returns.

she’s a college student that communicates with us over WiFi to save minutes on our account. Can you recommend a fix or let me know if this is being looked into by Apple.

thank you...

Hello Brian,

We see that your daughter's iPhone 8 isn't holding a Wi-Fi connection while using FaceTime. Is her iPhone up to date?

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Also, have her try the following troubleshooting and see if that changes the behavior:

If you can't make a FaceTime call on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If issues persist, have her Contact Apple Support. Ideally from another device if possible, though not required.
