Hi,

My iPhone XS Max disconnects from the WiFi every time I am on FaceTime. Why is that?

iPhone 11 Pro FaceTime Calling I got an iphone 11 a week ago and have been having this same issue. Whenever I facetime my wifi drops and it goes to LTE! As soon as I’m done with the FaceTime call, WiFi picks right back up! I tried turning off Wi-Fi assist. I made a FaceTime call, wifi stayed on for about 30 seconds and then changed over to LTE. So now why wont my wifi stay on during facetime??! I have a very fast internet. I speed tested itinerary the phone It showed 310 download and 394 upload. So now why wont my wifi stay on during facetime??!

iPhone switches from WiFi to data while I’m on FaceTime When I am on FaceTime, I notice my phone switches between WiFi and data while I am connected to WiFi. I have turned off WiFi assist, I have signed out of my WiFi and back into my WiFi and the issue still persists.

Well, we can’t answer “why”, but here is some troubleshooting help:

Also note that Wi-Fi will turn off if the phone locks (unless it’s plugged in), so you must keep it unlocked. A video FaceTime call will do this.
