Resting heart rate during sleep

Hi,

I have just moved across from a FitBit to an Apple Watch series 6. I have set this up to monitor my sleep and when checking the results this morning I notice that none of my HR data has been included in my HR while asleep. Surely if a cheap FitBit can cope with simultaneous sleep tracking and resting HR measurements then an Apple Watch should be able to cope with this?

Hello adams.mt76,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand you're not seeing data from your heart rate with the Apple Watch, after sleeping. We can help point you in the right direction.

To confirm, did you open the Health app on your iPhone to see if the data of your heart rate appears? For guidance, please follow the section in this article that says, "See a graph of your heart rate data." Check your heart rate on Apple Watch

If the heart rate does not appear on your Apple Watch, we suggest following these helpful steps: Get the most accurate measurements using your Apple Watch

It’s ok https://discussions.apple.com/profile/barberlives123. I’ve since worked out that HR readings taken while asleep do not count towards your “resting heart rate” figure anymore. Unfortunately It makes the figure look exaggerated in comparison to other fitness trackers but I guess that as long as I can track it then it’s just annoying rather than a problem.
